NAEM

New Project Protocol / Methodology Development

NAEM can assist project developers with assessing the potential and viability of developing a new protocol or methodology for carbon credits and carbon removal credits for projects through an in-depth analysis of the project and/or technology, identifying the most suitable protocol, and the optimal potential market for the monetization of carbon credits and carbon removal credits. The assessment would include:

Review of existing compliance and/or voluntary carbon credit and carbon removal credit standards that may be applicable for the project and defining the required standard for the quantification and verification of the carbon credits or carbon removal credits.

If it is determined the project does not comply with any existing protocols/methodologies, NAEM can assist with developing and managing the process for a new protocol/methodology for the project that would include:
Drafting the concept note outlining the key principles, procedures, and calculations for quantifying the carbon credits and/or carbon removal credits.

Providing project technical reports, data collection and management protocols, monitoring plans, and other supporting information required for the approval of the protocol/methodology.

Submission of the proposed protocol/methodology documents, any follow up amendments with the entity regulating the generation of the emission reductions, and navigating the process to obtain approval.
